Sunbeam 2000 build

Thanks Scotty,
I have to agree with you, it does look better wider and the extra passenger room is much appreciated. Playing around with two grille options, I will have to take a pic of the first idea and post it here. The plan is to finish up the rear license plate and light area then jump on to the front end and rocker panel finish bodywork.

I would do a series 1 & 2 style grill with no lights, I think people will think it's a 1955 T Bird with that grill.

If it was me, I'd at least work in the original chrome center oval with insignia on that rally light bar. That would end comparisons and tie the whole design together.

And because I'm abit of a weirdo, I'd put the original Sunbeam letters on the front and back because retro is savage.

Old school traditional but sleek with that razors edge.

Thanks Brian,
Will post a pic of the first coat of body filler and primer. It's on another computer. Next I will work of the panel gaps for the trunk and deck lid.

Here is a look at it with a plate and frame before the bumper goes on. The license plate light should be concealed after the bumper is in place.

Possibly, the other consideration is a bumper that is notched at the bottom for the plate. Something like this.

I stopped by the metal store and started making new bumper mounts so it will sit higher. The bumpers I am using are 67-68 Camaro.
