SU Fuel Pump Help

Walked into the garage last week to find a large puddle of gasoline under my Tiger. The leak was from the fuel pump so I drained the tank and ordered a new one from Sunbeam Specialities. New on arrived today and I’m a bit confused on the configuration on the bottom of the pump. There is a hose barb on the bottom of the new pump that’s absent from the old one. Question is was there a line of some sort that was lost or do you block if off like the barb higher up on the pump.

I’ve attached a photo of the two side by side. You’ll note just a whole on the old pump where the barb is on the new one. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!
