Can anyone shed any light on the purpose of this stud? Thanks in advance, Jeff (it's located on the left side below the lift the dot snap)

Hi,

The stud in question is for the strap when the soft/hard top is used. It keeps the cover from falling into the stowage area.

On SV's/IA's?II's there are 2 pirelli rubber straps with hooks and a tennax fastener secuerd to the vertical panel at the rear. They hook onto the retaining strip for the soft top then the tennax studs hangs over the front. They secure to that stud and hold the soft boot in place when the soft top is up so it doesnt hang down.

SS sells repros of them.. here are some crusty old ones i bought before i knew that!
