I have to renew the old tire of my spare wheel, for safety reasons. The all original one is hard as rock - after 60 years, wonder wonder. The new tire is ready to be mounted onto the pressed steel rim. Unfortunately the new tire is size 165/80 R13, as the four other ones, which is slightly wider and hardly fits into the well. Any idea or experiences how to handle this?
Store it depressed and carry a pump in the boot? Change to 155/80 R13? Modify body work? Stupidly I did not think oft this beforehand.
