Soft Top Replacement

Hi All

This is a question for a lot of the Aussie Sunbeamers on this
forum but its a pretty general enquiry as I have emailed Rick at Sunbeam
Specialties too, but my soft top is in need of replacement. Velcro sided
window model, the one I have on the car at present is a vinyl I guess
exterior colour black with light (now dirty interior)grey. Its 30 years old
so I am wondering is there a better way or any new suppliers of a quality
product out there in the world wide web.

Thanks

Albeam,

Where in AU are you? The cheapest way given the AU exchange rate is probably a top from Robbins in the states and have it fitted locally by a trimmer.

When you do this its also a good time to ensure that the windscreen is set to the correct angle and seals are all good. If you dont have the screen adjusters from Rick good time to get them.

Thanks Micheal

Up in Queensland. My present top fits pretty good
except for a slight bend in the cantrail across the the
top of the passenger sidefront screen where it has a slight
bend just enough to create a slight draught. Is cantrail the correct term
I am not sure there, but yes with the present exchange rate I
agree. The English suppliers just seem vague and disinterested
in doing business and I hope that is not the case because usually
in the Sunbeam world everyone is very helpful.

Albeam,

I assume you mean the yes header rail (bit that clips to the screen?) cant rail often refers to the ones on the side.. though some call the front the same.

I had similar isues with some Uk suppliers.

Have you got a email i can contact you on.. was looking through your old posts and had a question to ask you about your carb setup.
