SI-SII Rear View Mirror

What is everybody doing for early series rear view mirrors? They seem to be in the unobtainable category.

Is there a suitable alternative which glues to the glass that looks OK size and design wise?

The late series mount is available in repro (SS appears to be out of stock but Sunbeam Spares has some). I was thinking that maybe a person could carefully grind off the upper lip of that mount and maybe get it to fit but that seems like a lot of effort...and then the mirror itself has to be sourced as everybody seems to be out of those as well.

The owner sent a cobra mirror deal for the car I'm doing has a post like a cobra also has a rod where it can slide up or down, I think I might get one for myself as the stock mirror vibrates like a dog shitti. Peach seeds, plus when the top is up it leaves a lot to be desired! I also thought about gluing one to the screen but haven't found one that is small enough to do.

It seems the Alpines have really unusual mirror requirements. Over the years I've bought so many mirrors that were useless to me that I hesitate to buy more.
