SI SII hardtop trim install

Hi,

Does anyone have any pointers on how to insert the lower stainless steel trim into the rubber window seal?

I got the upper strip in but the lower one is a bear, mainly in the corners. Yes, the seal has the slit to hold the trim in place.

I'm considering pulling the plexiglass and inserting the trim first?

I hope you get a response.
I wasn't aware of an accurate early series HT window seal especially in regards to the allowance for the stainless trim.. so not sure if yours is per original or one that is close.

Sorry cant offer advice but interested where you got the seal and how you go with the install.

I purchased it from Sunbeam Spares. They had it a couple of years ago. Part # RU25a - S1-2 htop screen surround seal. I've never seen an original seal so I can't compare. But this one seems to fit well.
