Should windscreen frame be body color?

I have a black Mark I Tiger that came with red interior. The windscreen frame is red not black. I've always assumed that a previous owner needed to replace the original frame for some reason and got one from a red donor car.

I'm replacing all the seals and while I have the frame disassembled I'm going to give it a fresh coat of paint.

Before I do so I want to confirm if the windscreen frames were painted body color - which would be black in my case. Yes?

The ones I've had or seen since I started in 74 have been body color, as long as the car hasn't been repainted generally
