Series V 3AW can wanted

Hoping that one of you series v owners who did the alternator upgrade have a usable 3AW can sitting on the shelf.
You can’t be using it —given the upgrade — and its not the gift your grandkids are expecting on their birthday. I know you did not throw it away!!

be well

I think I still have the one from my old SV in storage, I’ll check. If I do, I’ll let you know and just send it to you, no charge.

If the Series IV has it too, I can just remove it and send that your way. I’m running a Hitachi Alt and have no use for it.

Let me see what I got and send pics. I’ll be in touch.

Does anyone know if the 3AW from a SIV can be used with his setup? I went through storage and couldn’t find my SV one. Can anyone assist or educate? Thanks gang!

If that replacement simulator part you provided the link for (below), is any indication, there are POS and NEG earth versions of them. This seems to suggest the 3AW parts between SIV and SV vary. Actually I wasn't aware they used a 3AW on a SIV.

The Cool Cat Express 3AW simulator that I was directed to by Sunbeam Specialties states it is only for NEG earth vehicles.

To be honest I wasn’t sure if there was one on the IV or not, I figured similar tech is used across the board so why not that? If I’m wrong, please tell me. Just wanted to try and help someone out.

I believe with series IV stock setup was with a generator and the warning light circuit is off of the control box and doesn't implement a 3AW, but I don't have a series IV.

True. The 3AW was only used in SV and in combination with the Lucas alternator 10AC. No such device on earlier Series where the charging warning lamp output is directly coming off the generator...
