Series 1 Battery

I've been searching the forum over and can't seem to find a recommended battery for my very stock, early, S1. It hasn't had a battery installed in 30 years and I don't have any idea what would be best. I don't want to open up a firestorm of manufactures but would like a good recommendation.

The Optima batteries are AGM. See https://www.autozone.com/diy/battery/are-optima-batteries-worth-it You might need a vent tube with an AGM battery, but I'm not sure about that. One of my daily drivers has an AGM battery and it has a vent tube.

My series V will take a Group 24 size battery. I don't know if the battery box on a series 1 is the same size. Take some measurements of the box to see what should fit. I personally like Deka batteries, which are manufactured not far from me, but I'm sure there are many good options.

I'm using a regular lead acid battery in my Alpine. No issue with spillage for me, but I don't drive my car much. I don't have any current draw when the car is off, so I normally don't use a battery tender.

Thank you Mike! I'll look into that.
