John,
If you go on Sunbeam Specialties website they list a company that manufactures these.
I believe it to be an aircraft window manufacturer.

Hope that helps.
Cheers!

I have contacted Sunbeam Specialties. The contact they had to make the rear window no longer makes them. There are plex-glass companies that will make the windshield but you would have to pay the up front cost to make the mold. That makes the cost so high it is not worth doing.

I have done some checking and have yet to fine a supplier in the US. There seems to be a supplier in the UK but they have no plans to produce any Ser I back windshields. There is not enough demand.

So that leaves me with looking for existing back windshields in the US. I hope some club member has one or knows someone that has one they no longer need.

There is an aircraft company in CA that makes the rear window for the early Alpine hardtop. I have lost the contact information but maybe someone else on the forum remembers or has kept this contact info. Anybody???

Thank You very much !!!:p

I contacted the company that you found Rick -

Aircraft Windshield Co.
10871 Kyle street
Los Alamitos CA 90720
1-562-430-8108

They have a mold for the Ser I & II back windshield. The price is now $235.00 plus shipping (Mine has been ordered)
They also make Tiger rear windshields for the same price - $235.00.

I still have my old rear windshield that is so scratched that it can not be restored. The person at Aircraft Windshield told me that if there were fit problems on the new windshield from their mold to send them my old windshield and they would make any necessary corrections.

It should take about 2 weeks to have mine made. I will let everybody know how it fits. My hard top is an original Ser I Al top.

Is there some forum location where this type of information can be kept so we do not have to go through this process again ???

One happy camper
