Seat tracks

Restoring some seat tracks. They appear to be plated, but there is a fair amount of rust. Perhaps zinc plated? Is there a strong benefit to replating, or is paint a reasonable option? If I use EvapoRust, can I avoid repainting after the rust is removed? And how exactly does that stuff work? Does it remove the rust, and is the iron in suspension? Is there more material present afterward as compared to sandblasting or wire brushing? Amazing stuff. Thanks, David

I wire brush them clean, wash'em off with brake cleaner and paint them silver. Never given re-plating a thought.
