Rootes speaker and box wanted.

So what is 1 worth that has the ribbed face plate same radio and speaker but no speaker box or under dash bracket ? oh and it works

I would put the OD light in the stock hole.. there is a guy in the UK that makes reproduction face plates... I'd just order one.. problem solved
Michael has a Series V. Rootes discontinued the dash mounted overdrive indicator lamp after Series IV so his SV dash wouldn't have the upper delete the non-OD car would have. But if you look closely at the rear of an SV dash, you can see the very faint outline where the lamp would been mounted.

Didn't realise he had a V.. yes the plastic dash still has the round outline on the back where they plugged the dash mold .. easy update with some tape and a drill...

I have looked very closely and cannot find where this light may have been. Can you direct me at to where abouts to dig deeper ? What i do have is a plastic bung in a hole to the right of the fuel gauge which I am not sure what it is for ....20260114_094826.jpg20260114_094905.jpg

It will be visible from the rear of the dash. If out on a bench... But it is the same distance from the tach as the other warning light

Evenly spaced between the gauges and the same distance from the top profile of the dash as the other warning lights, do it's lower in comparison as the dash arcs down

Michael's dash appears to be fitted with a round opal-colored, faceted OD lamp specific to Series 3. Beginning with SIV production, Rootes changed the design of the lamp to a rectangular 'flipper' type similar to the indicator and beam in his dash. The OD lamp also changed, but in a gray color to match the blue/green as shown in my archive pic below. Rootes discontinued the dash OD lamp after Series IV but continued its use thru MKII Humber Sceptre but discontinued in MKIII. BTW, does anyone notice the oddities in the dash pic below?

Mark.. the photo i posted it a metal blanking for the OD hole..not the S3 faceted lamp.

On your sash photo .. the oil/amp swap is a new one... But a lot easier to access the oil line ...

Thanks for clarifying, Michael. It was obvious that yours is a Tiger dash but speculated you may have been using the OD hole for an indicator lamp for another application.

Yes, that the OP and AMPS gauges have swapped positioning is an oddity. But it is very odd that the OP has the column-mounted overdrive switch on the dash.

I've actually seen the dash OD switch set-up before, but using an MG style switch with the little label.. also seen the works BMC style ones mounted on the gear lever... Though that actually makes no sense given you won't change into a gear and OD at the same time...better to have it like a padel shift so hands stay on the wheel.

As for the dash... Not mine... My Tiger is LHD. And my tach "reads to 8000" said like spinal tap ;)
