Are you talking the late SV style ?View attachment 36931
Tho the above Craigslist radio may somehow be configured to fit under the dash of a Sunbeam, neither the radio nor speaker are OEM stock for any Alpine or Tiger. Below is the speaker Tim seeks for his radio. I've already set him up with a Rootes-Motorola radio, surround and primary/front hangers but didn't have the speaker. The 2nd & 3rd pics are what he has. From Craigslist in Manhattan Beach...

Novel tweats in the UK makes accurate reproduction speaker housings.Thank you so much for clarifying for me Mark.
The radio Tim is assembling is the "deluxe radio" console introduced around the time of Series 3 and could be found in the Rootes Sunbeam Alpine SIV accessory catalog. The deluxe console was fitted with a Motorola 3-pushbutton radio with chrome knobs, scale garnish and faceplate as shown in the pic below. In California.dealers put in what they had and so did everyone else. What's interesting is the knobs . Also the Sapphire 3 Bendix was common to VWs yet scare in Sunbeam branding. I'm pretty happy that the UK guy Neil and other's have put together the later consoles and filled the demand. Even though I have an original console with a rebranded Retrosound with shiny new knob's.

Looks good Michael. Do you still have the original ribbed face plate for the radio mount?Just for interest here is the radio that I am putting in my SV. I am led to believe that it is the original from my car but lost buttons ( whivh I made with 3d printing ). The radio works - that is it makes a scrathing noise when turned on but I have yet to take it out to see if I can find any stations to listen to here in Canadia ......View attachment 37358
Based on your pics, it appears a PO butchered the (fiberglass?) surround likely to mount a CD player. I have unblemished original OEM steel surrounds, so your radio mounts correctly. BTW, that Rootes Motorola radio is a really nice find.Just for interest here is the radio that I am putting in my SV. Thanks but unfortunately I do not have the original faceplate. The PO had mounted a modern radio badly and left it like that. There are 2 holes and I am not sure what they were there for. I am going to use one for the O/D light now that I have installed the Latching momentary switch and relay.Looks good Michael. Do you still have the original ribbed face plate for the radio mount?
It appears at some point someone added a switch or warning lights to the left of the radio. Maybe they removed the ribbed silver faceplate when they did that.
I would put the OD light in the stock hole.. there is a guy in the UK that makes reproduction face plates... I'd just order one.. problem solvedThanks but unfortunately I do not have the original faceplate. The PO had mounted a modern radio badly and left it like that.
