What's wrong with this conrod ?

P.S. Don't tell me that one of the locking nuts is missing...

Could it be the Out standing way it Defies Gravity?

And/or the Big end is the light end?

DW
Good bet. This happens when amateurs or workshop fools change the small end bush without proper reaming afterwards. The rod bolt is way too firm and inhibits the neccessary rod motion. Found it in a S3 block I just picked up together with a bigger parts pile...

Are you pointing out the obvious that half of the bearing is either missing or wrapped inside the other half ? I have had the half wrap thing happen on my my 39 Desoto sometime after it's twelfth cross country trip. That was a long time ago and really poor oil compared to today's products.

Yeah you are right the upper half of the rod bearing shells is missing. But not by excessive wear in this case. Found it elsewhere in the block :)

Which begs the question of how the rod bearing shell got out when it is captured by the "cheeks" of the crankshaft rod journal.

Good selection, Michael. We have seen all of those - in most cases executed by so called "experienced" workshopss. But I'm rather looking for less known topics ;)
