Well, there's no latch only a hinged plate connected to the seat back and the body.
The two rear seat pads are now finished and stored on a shelf until I need them.
I'm way behind on the body refinishing, so I'll get back on that tomorrow.

Rootes didn't make it easy to repair the seals in the air control blade for the early series heater/defroster. Mine were rock hard and fell apart.
So what does one do?....Drill out the spot welds and take it out of the body to work on. Well, I had it out in about an hour or so.
I'll use pop rivets (and not spot welds) to make it easier to remove for servicing in the future.

I removed the body from the mobility frame and it's setting level and now to try a fitting of the top and to prep the metal and prime it with epoxy.
I did some painting on some small parts like the bonnet hinge (and others) in Pippin Red. That's going to be the color of the Lemans, Pippin Red.

Moving along at a good pace and painting small parts. The doors are in excellent shape (after dipping) and I can get them primered & mounted on the body to check the door gaps. Ian & a friend will be here & helping to lift the hardtop on the body to check the fit.

Moving into fitting trials of the top & doors. I'm not liking what I'm seeing, but I'll take care of it.

Jan, it still looks reasonably okay (I have experience with Austin Healeys, they never fit!) only the left rear wing needs some extra love I think... but with your expertise that won't be a problem! Keep up the good work.

1- Is there anyone in the world selling a new SI-SII windscreen rubber seal? S/S has it listed as p/n WS21 but stock is long gone.

2- Also, I need a new rear hatch, window glass seal w/chrome locking strip. I have the original rubber and made these measurements:
