1725 cc Series V Block has been stripped clean & is ready to paint. What colours have others applied to their block, exterior of my car is green-pewter. If engines came from factory in 1966, were they painted then ?

The blocks on all Alpine's were gloss black, other than the very late SV where they were the light Chrysler blue

Thank you for the information. Seeing that Serial Number indicates date of November, 1965, black gloss will be used. I like the idea of blue, however, is best keep car as original as possible for future sale...All the best...
