Original water pump rebuild?

So I believe this car has the original water pump

Any opinion on having this rebuild or buying one of the available aftermarket pumps?
 
I had some challenges when I had to replace my water pump on my series V not that long ago. I was able to get a proper fit, but had to do some grinding on the pump to get it to fit flush to the block. I do not know how common something like this is ( after market parts and all), but knowing the awkwardness I faced, I would now go the rebuild route.
My old original is on the shelf awaiting a rebuild.

Im kind of leaning towards the rebuild method.
I have a quote from Eggies here in LA to rebuild for $250
