Offy manifold

with the mentioned return of the offy and Holly 4 barrel - I would ask does the height of the carburetor change such that the
hood/bonnet does not fit? I have a 1977 Mustang 2.8 in an early 63 Alpine and the hood closes nicely with an adequate air cleaner
on the 2 barrel Holly - do I need to worry about this fit with the 4 barrel?

I have the same set up on a '77 Capri 2.8 in my Series 5, and it was a challenge to find an air cleaner that would fit. I settled for the triangular Edelbrock. I had to cut down the installation collar to make it fit. Not optimal, but it works.

I am running a K&N 9" round filter with a 2" element. I am also running a LAT style hood with the air scoop. I had to cut done the base to make it fit. my old V6 ran the triangular Edlebrock filter

This is my setup, plenty of room between the bonnet and and air cleaner. With the way it sits on the carb I had to get a taller air filter since the butterflies hit the cleaner cover. Second picture is the bottom of the lower cover.
