New Alpine Owner - Window Crank

Hello,
I recently purchased a 1962 Alpine that had been off the road for 25 years. Just upgraded the Carburetor and took it for its first drive but I have a long list of items to fix. Here is my question, how do you remove the window crank and interior door handle so I can remove the door card?
Thanks, and any help is greatly appreciated!
Chris

Push the shiny round piece in to the black beehive plastic piece. (Its spring loaded).
Remove pin from cross drilled hole in handle.

Installation is the reverse. :)

It's a fiddly pin about the size of a pencil lead. It's scored to raise a slight edge.In a pinch I've cut them out of other bits of rod. The spring keeps some tension outward on the other parts so a cut coat hanger will often fall out as will the pin that can easily do a disappearing act...

There may also be a square cut piece of rubber in the bottom of the crank hole which keeps pressure on the pin. Tapping out the pin with a punch may crack the handle boss if you don't relieve this pressure by pushing in on the handle as well.

That’s how it’s supposed to work, but if yours are like mine then the black plastic part of the escutcheon will have shrunk or warped making the metal cap impossible to slide into it. If you do manage to get them off, use a rotary tool and sand down the inside until the metal cap can slide freely.
