Iirc they were colour coded... But knowing which order is still required.I may be preaching to the choir, but be aware that all four headliner bows are different for the late model hardtop. On top of that, they were not marked and getting them in the correct location is a trial-and-error royal PITA.
It's probably all of the things except better looking. The transition to the front header rail and the rear window and C pillars would require quite a bit of shaping before the headliner profile is correct. And the ribs provide some detail to the roof.Unless factory originality is a requirement, I would use the modern method of gluing the headliner down over a couple of layers of landau pad. Think it would be easier, cooler, quieter and better looking.
