Need a Crankshaft Dampener

D

deaver

Does anyone have a Crankshaft Balancer or where to order one? None available at Classic or Sunbeam Specialities.

His dampers are made from aluminum and not steel or iron like the originals. Its very confusing to me his reason for doing this.

The weight difference may upset the original "tuning" to dampen out the torsional vibrations in the crankshaft. It may or may not become a problem. Probably the 3-main forged cranks would be okay, but I don't know about the cast 5-main cranks?

He makes an aluminum one too, but the stock replacement he sells is steel/cast.

The aluminum one doesn't have an elastomer ring.

I installed on when I rebuilt my engine but I just fired it up for the first time on Saturday so I really have nothing to report if there are any issues.
