Ian Spencer in the USA had the contour seats as featured in the LM's reproduced..

That said.. if you did a little research there is a guy in the UK who rebuilds and also re-manufactures the microcell contours and other models.

I think ian had the seat frames made that had the sides that came around farther to give more side support. we had the original lemans seat frames made but only enough for a couple cars. two of the frames are in a car that now lives on the west coast. as far as the foams, you would have to have them custom made.

Restoring Microcell Seats

I am trying to restore my Harrington seats. The side bolsters are worn through on the drivers side and the foam has turned to powder. The webbing under the seats is as saggy as my middle aged belly. Anyone have any ideas on how to put together sets for making these seats look new?
Thanks!!!

Marc,

A quality upholstery shop should be able to fabricate new foam cushions and webbing.

upholstery shops that do street rod work have strapping available that is similar to the original stuff. we have a complete harrington interior in the shop now and he was showing me the strapping he'll use for the seats. it is a little wider and is very hard to stretch. he is going to weave the straps together until they form a section that has almost no gap between the straps and he says it will be strong. he is going to glue the foam to bags that will be sewn to the side pieces and it will also have foam in the areas between the seat frame pieces. the sides will have a half inch of foam so I set in the seats instead of on them. my size dictates that. one thing I suggest if you have the original seat frames is to set them on a table to see if they have any bends. the seats out of all three of my cars were bent. another thing is to check the welds. the seats tend to crack near the top. the tubing used was very thin walled. we're using a set of new frames for the car we're working on.
