Map Light Lens wanted

Hello Forum, I am looking for a Series V map light lens and acompanying metal plate. The plastic frame with switch is still intact and works fine but I need the lens and other bit .... thanks

They used to be available from sunbeam specialties and classic sunbeam new.
If not check moss .. the Jaguars and lotus of the 60s used the same light.

It was a complete one out of my S2 parts car so I never put it in my S1. I'll dig into some boxes and send you a pic.

Thanks, I got the same seal but the one I had on the car is totally different and goes all the way round ... looks like the boot gasket in profile
On the lamp,
I see you do not have the switch on the side which I do. I wonder if the lens will fit on mine ? Do you Know ?

Michael, as to the engine bay gasket/weather-stripping, the previous illustration of the seal is correct - it is u-shaped and only goes part way around the compartment. However, not shown in the accompanying photo are the 4 clips for securing it. There are 4 clips which are slid over the seal - 2 at each end, and 2 more on each side, about 3” beyond the curve along the back edge. See photo below for the clips source and their placement.

So a PO must have thought he would put a seal all round .. it has not gone very hard and I have removed it totally and put on the one like your picture ....

Thanks Kevin, I wasn't aware of the clips, and I haven't had much luck keeping them down with dabs of gasket cement. Do you know if the clips are available?

The parts manual shows 3 different map lights, each with a different part number for the lense, so I suspect the lense for the S2 wouldn't fit a later lamp. The S2 had the map switch on the dash, up for "panel" and down for "map".

I believe Classic Sunbeam and Sunbeam Specialties both stock them. (Note the first illustration I posted, showing them in the SS catalog.)

@puff4 Kevin I was confused for a bit about the bonnet seal stuff here...then unrelated you were responding to his earlier question in another thread which is answered ... You must have to many windows open

With a current wind chill of -11° in Ambler PA, it's doubtful that Kevin has any windows open right now!

Ha! Naah… Thistle Gray mentioned the seal, so I essentially was responding to his comment and photos.

Hahah! Truth! We got a ton of snow. And with the Sunbeam laid up in the midst of a body refresh, my main plow vehicle was out of commission, so I had to use a couple others from the stable. Worked great!

I think I would prefer the jag with its enclosed cockpit for pushing snow.
