Looking for RM 810 Ignition swith lock tumbler

Have care with non-original key, hoping to find an RM 810 tumbler - thanks in advance for you time to check

Agree with Twautomotive. The RM locks and keys were used on a limited group of cars, so near to impossible to get a replacement piece of the same number. If you have a correct key for RM810, a locksmith can rekey the ignition lock to fit. It is nice to have an absolutely original lock mechanism, but they are a pain to take out, and the numbers are often really hard to read.
Or you can use the guy I use, Jake at britishauto@gmail.com. Fast and efficient. Can usually make a key just from the number, using a new key blank. Finding a good quality ignition switch, which is not all scored on the inside, is tougher. The new ones are not as good quality. Perhaps others may chime in with a source of quality switches.
And if you want a good original key, @Volovguys often has them, and I can check my own stash
Good luck.

David

Thanks for the plug, David. Kragh already reached out to me, and I have absolutely nothing in RM810. On the other hand, I do have:

NOS Rootes 31953 ignition switches
NOS red/black Lucas red box superseded 34680 switches
NOS pre-1980 Lucas orange box 34680 switches

I'll not carry the green box Lucas switches. They are junk

Thanks all, had not thought of the re key approach - IGN swittch/key what I have now I have never seen before. It is a little smaller than an original FS key, top, has LUCAS on one side and the number 92216 stamped on the other side. My guess is this tumbler is is totaly different so will lookup a RM tumbler to see about re-key. My assumption is that ign switch as replaced as unit including this new key.

I think this is the replacement key and lock that SS used to sell. I don't know how they stack up to the originals from Lucas.
If your ignition switch is in good shape, you can reuse it. The main issue is scoring inside the switch, which occurs over time.
The lock mechanism probably needs to be the original type. There are 3 different blades/differs that vary, making the locks different. Five per lock. Don't know if Jake or another locksmith would have spares. If you have any spares, perhaps he can get the ones needed. Make sure they are RM or RL, not ST. AMHIK. Could also get them from a door lock, but don't think a trunk or cubby lock would work.
I would email Jake as above to see what he'd need.
And- I found some new looking keys. Two RM 810, one RL 810. The same other than the "onion head" is slightly different. No real wear. Not sure where I got them- need to double check to make sure they are not needed in another project. PM me.

The key on the top is my funky key - other two keys
for size comparison FYI.

Yes, top key is your reproduction Lucas key for the reproduction ignition lock.
Second key is a nice looking original RM, nickel plating intact, for doors and ignition
The third is the FS type for the trunk and cubby lock between the seats.
