Are you asking for a series V?
You want to know why it has 2 tennax fasteners? They hold the rubber tension straps used to support the top cover when the soft top is up.

The hard top would contact the studs as their length would make the hard top not sit on its weatherstrip.

Oh you mean the ones each side adjacent to the B post ? I assumed he meant the tennax ones of the late style soft top cover .. but yes the cover also has the 2 flat press studs on the cover too.
 
yes I have a SV and I am talking about the snaps beside the B post. So they are to accommodate a hard top then.
Thanks Question answered. As I don't have a hard top it was one of those things I constantly looked at and wonder why lol
