Lift a dot stud

Hello everyone

I have a tonneau cover for my series 1. The double height stud on the fs wing has the knob on the top busted off. The stud itself is fastened to the windshield frame just ahead of the door. I have tried to gently remove the stud, but it doesn't want to budge. Before I do catastrophic damage, I thought I would see if anyone knows how they are fastened. Screw type, bolt on?
Second question. Where can one find a replacement in Canada or the U.S.?

Thanks

They are threaded. Usually the pin threads are heavily corroded since they are made from steel while the windshield frame is made from brass. Would try to apply spot heat - for ex. by a small flame device. Grab the remains with pliers once it's red hot and it should come out. If you don't find one in US/CDN I may check my stocks...
