OK, so here's a find...

How they worked out that precise price is beyond me.

Frankly, I was in the game until they added the $0.62... too rich for my blood now. ;)

In the description they do say it's offers and the price was not the desired sale figure .. though I bet they'd take it.

Good afternoon.

So I am the one who had these listed.

The price listed was the date of the race in European format........

They are an interesting bit, of an interesting car .. the question is what do you want to do with them? It seems only 2 of the works Sebring cars survived out of the cars entered in 61-63... One fully restored...the other under restoration with its original panels and a set of the repro alloy ones spare from the other restoration. ... Nice wall art?

Well when I first found them I searched for the car to go with them. However it appears its long gone.

I was going to put them back up for sale again and thats how I came across this forum post.

Yes they would make excellent wall art for a Ken Miles collection. Or help complete the other car.

Actually, I have the original #41 Sebring Alpine alloy doors and did purchase an Alpine alloy door from Steve Alcala. Because the right hand door incurred minor damage from Don Yenko running into Peter Proctor (driving #41) in the first lap-last turn onto the straight at the 1962 12 hour Sebring race. I wanted to keep the damaged door as evidence of the provenance that this is indeed #41. #41 is the most original of the factory works 12 hour Sebring Alpines. Complete with interior seats, upholstery and all lighting/gauges/steering wheel/etc of six (6) Sebring "Factory Works" Alpines. Minus the original engine which was most likely destroyed, what with the 6000miles of racing (I believe mostly by Ted Block) use in California after the Sebring event. With all of the drive train and replacement engine (my special design) and miscellaneous components rebuilt I will be moving forward on the #41 project.

Of note: I recently layered the John Horsman's (lead preparation engineer for the GT40 Ford Advance Vehicle team) Tigerised V8 Harrington Le Mans into the mix of shop projects. While it was restored as a running race car in Gulf racing colors by the Hellenic Museum in Athens, Greece. It needs some tinkering to bring it up to track standards. I plan on visiting the museum this May to determine if they still have some of the parts from the original configuration as Horsman's daily driver.

I believe the doors above might be from the #42 1962 Sebring Alpine. This would be the brother to my 1962 #41 and the restored #43. At one time rumor had the #42 alloy hood and boot lid as being somewhere in Oregon. Steve Silverstein would have better knowledge of the history on #42.
