I have a 302/c4 in a 64 alpine (still has stock alpine rear end) has anyone made a "driveshaft" that FITS the c4 and the original rear end ?? will change rear end at a later date). was told by a driveshaft specialist that a "bastard U-Joint that cannot be done ! I already have the yoke and driveshaft to fit the C4, (the correct Length). If you have made one,..... HOW ??? Thank you

As Casey Stengel said, "You could look it up."

Entering "driveshaft" in the Search box at the top right of any forum page will return a list of almost 200 posts, many of which are about driveshafts for Series Alpine engine swaps.

I happen to have that driveshaft combo out in the garage. I will try and get a pic posted later today.

What I have is exactly what you have, EXCEPT, ( i will have to go out and take a picture) I think the rear yoke is a little different than what you have. - what diameter is the "TUBE" ? THE REAR END Cap that need to go onto the ujoint looks a little different than yours. is A lot smaller than the ujoint on the drive shaft. was told by a reputable driveshaft place that just a "Bastard" u joint won't do it. Help !

the shaft IS "exactly the correct length". ( was in a c4 sunbeam) just cannot get anyone to "Connect" the rear u joint to the rear end flange. last drive train specialist told me to bring in the "rear end flange" and they would maybe match a "different rear end flange" to match the drive shaft.. seem like the "specialists" are not really specialists. LOL

Fonz, The flange I showed should work with a common 1310 ujoint. What length is your driveline ujoint to ujoint, I'm curious. Maybe you have the wrong yoke on your driveshaft?

the driveshaft itself is 23" from ujoint center to ujoint center. cup size (3.125") inner snapring. trans yoke is correct and fits fine. It's getting the "rear "ujoint" connected to the rear end "yoke" is the problem. the rear end "Yoke" is SO much smaller. (u joint wise)

I take that back, there ARE DIFFERENCES. THE U-JOINT ON MY SHAFT HAS A CAP Diameter of 1.125" and the distance accoss the u joint (end of cap to end of cap) is 3.670"

obviously is not a 310 u joint in the end of my driveshaft. what i have is wider and larger diameter caps cap is 1.125" and width is 3.670

Still Cannot find a" driveshaft end" that will work with the existing U-joint and the original rear end yoke . what i have is wider and larger diameter caps. u joint Cap is 1.125" diameter and inner c-clip. and width is 3.670"" original YOKE" is much smaller u joint CAP Diameter and u joint Width. " seems" like what I need (don't know if there is such a critter) is a U-joint with .945" diam cap/ 2.42" wide, x cap 1.145/3.680 wide. is there such a u-joint ?
