Hood scoop

I've a couple pics of a nice scoop. Will send via E-mail

Bob, They are on the way, including a source where I got this one. Just can't get them loaded here for some odd reason.

There is a company ( usa fibreglass) that sells a repro LAT bonnet but the also sell just the hood scoop as well iirc..

Then there are the many cobra and mustang aftermarket scoops

I have a hood you might want. It is in good shape no rust. It might be as good as what you have and worth experimenting on if you plan to cut into what you have.
Given that you did a conversion, I would be willing to trade for series v parts if you have usable/ rebuildable bits laying around.

be well
I can send pictures of my hood

Rounded— not sure what year as it came as a part to me when I bought my car

Personally I wouldn't have a long LAT style scoop because it dumps a bunch of air right across the top of the fan seems a little counterproductive. Plus further personal opinion is if you look at the car from the side you may say to yourself why is the scoop so far from the carburetor. Many people over the years have built cold air boxes with a shelf on it that go up to the scoop opening just to keep the cold air from blowing all the hot air from the engine straight into the carburetor.
IMHO
But all that said I have a LAT hood on my car only because there's a LAT hood I would love to have one with a shorter scoop but I'm not going to throw an obscene amount of money to buy one or time to make one.

While the scoop has to sit where it was designed for, but the hood opening can "dump the air" wherever the owner desires.
Jim, I imagine the "83 sold" relates to this particular item. It has been sold on ebay for many years.

Yeah, but how many Alpines have you seen with it on?
I know of atleast five not counting mine.

Below are pictures of the scoop just laying on the Alpine for visual effects. Will have one afixed to the Red GT V6 when it is ready to run.

Looking for a hood scoop hood for my V6 conversion S5.
Anyone?
I used a 1965 shelby mustang scoop (EBAY). I molded it onto my stock hood . My opinion looks alot better than the fiberglass hoods with scoops that are available
