HELP! Removing Rear Wheel Cylinder---what's the trick?

Ok... What's the trick to easily remove the interlocking retaining plate and spring plate from the base of the wheel cylinder.

I didn't see a trick - I cleaned mine and then fought with it until it came free. Sorry I don't have better info.

There is a difference between the earlier series and the SV.

Ahhhhhh! Figured it out...

Interesting design with Opposing interlocking tabs. I finally used two screwdrivers to separate the tabs on the Lower piece and then used a drift punch to drive the top piece away... Simple enough.. But it would have been easier with three hands...

I removed the brake line and used pliers to pull the tabs loose. I played with until it came free.
