Help Identify a Part

I got this ROOTES badge with a parts lot that I bought and don't know if it's an OEM part or aftermarket part. It is not a hood badge and I don't think it's an Alpine badge so I'm thinking it belongs to another marque. It is 2-1/4" in diameter. It has a part number BS1004A and the number 1/347 on the back. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks for any help.

Are you sure it's not a Series 3 bonnet badge?
I’m sure that I have never seen a bonnet badge like this before. This is smaller and has a totally different attaching mechanism on the back. There are 3 small legs that must be used to keep it from moving around. The center threaded post with large washer and butterfly nut is a configuration I’ve never seen before. Almost like a glove box door or dash mount. To my knowledge, it’s not from an Alpine or Tiger.

My 1963 S3 bonnet badge has 2 locating pins, not the threaded stud and wingnut.

Possibly From a Rapier hubcap series 4 or later. But it doesn't match the series 1-3 hubcaps that I have.

i am inclined to think it's the badge on the front of the Sunbeam badged imps... I hadnt seen those type of badges on hubcaps, but that doesn't mean they weren't ..in .kre familiar with the series cars.. I know the fastbacks used the same bonnet badge as the series 3 Alpine.. but this is a smaller version with different mounts... And appears to the front part of this 2 part chrome plinthFB_IMG_1764821327145.jpg

For comparison, here are pics of the front and rear of an OEM Series 3 bonnet (hood) badge. Measures about 2 3/4" wide.

I have one of those hood emblems adorning my crap shelf. I don't need it and would gladly sell it on but don't want to try to sell anything and ship anything during the Christmas season.

Thanks Mark. I have one of these too. I’m familiar with the Series 3 hood badge. The one in question is smaller and has a single post in the rear.
