Heater core drain??

Just to the right of where the throttle cable goes throught the firewall I have an outlet not attached to hose and is at the bottom of a box which I think is the heater core. I have had some heat from that area when driving and upon inspection there was some moisture dripping on the carpet. Should there be a drainage hose hooked and where should it drain. There is an opening in the firewall close below it but it has a solid grommet in place. Thanks for your help.

It's to drain moisture, either from heater leakage or condensation/rain/washing out of the heater core area. Should be a hose from there into a "duckbill" on the tunnel hole. You can get by with a grommet.
