7" headlight "sealed beams" have always been very cheap (like $5-6) now they are like $30 for nothing special ! when did the price of GLASS jump so much ? LOL

Surely it's a supply chain issue ;)
Well that and when was the last car produced with round headlights.

Always seems to have different meaning to different people. The last time I bought headlights, generic round 7" units were ten bucks, halogens about twice that. This was about ten years ago. Solve that issue with LED units that were about hundreds of dollars a pair. But I can now see to drive the Alpine at night.

About 40 years ago when I first had my Alpine, I added driving lights. Driving in LA. But then I found that I had to drive long distances to find roads where they did anything. I found that the LA roads and all the street lights are so good, you can really drive without your headlights on and see just fine. We live further out from those lights now. But I never find I need more.
