Can't figure out his setup, but this I'm sure of. If the clamps are not capable of collapsing the spring, they will offer zero protection if anything fails.

Pretty sure he should have two spring compressors in use there. Those sliding bar clamps will do nothing for him.

Picture of one of the tools I inherited. I had assumed these were for compressing springs. There are 3 of them. Would all 3 be used when compressing a spring, or is just 2 sufficient?
