Fresh air vents

I just bought a series V. The fresh air vents were open with the pull in any position. Closer examination showed the dampers, baffles, or whatever they are called are out of their pivot points. Forty five minutes of my time did not get either one back in place. Anyone have a tip for getting them back in place?

Thanks,

Russ

I've only had mine out once on the drivers side.

Make sure the springs are intact. There should be a rubber tip on the ends and there is supposed to be a hinge of some sort that breaks. There is a documented fix for the hinge, but it's said that you have to pull the dash to fix it.

Maybe a search of the old forum will turn up the previous thread. If not, I think I saved the document somewhere.

Thanks Rich. Since I made this post, I was able to get to the archives for the first time since the crash. After reading the fix, I think I will just take the doors off this summer. Just kidding.

Thanks,

Russ
