Ford T5 internal clutch release bearing options

    Might have been covered. To the point of looking at hydraulic clutch linkage for V6 and T5 transmission. Has any0ne installed the internal (concentric) release bearing kits? If so, what kit and where to buy? Issues or warnings about various kits or sources? Noticed the Speedway Motors kit only fits V8 transmissions, is there a difference? Speedway is out of there pull hydraulic slave cylinders at this time. What about reliability?

    There's probably lot of us who have used the hydraulic brg. Most notibly the Ram set up. On all the bearings you will have to machine the transmission nose brg housing, to 1.372 diameter as I am doing now on the car I am building or I'll sell you the pull cylinder I have for the current cost plus the shipping. The internal release brg. Is the way to go IMHO I've used them for years one thing to remember is to use a pedal stop irregardless of what anyone says. The pedal should stop at the moment the clutch releases.

    Thanks for the quick reply. "machine the transmission nose brg housing to 1.372 diameter" This is the bearing retainer with the guide for the release bearing? Turn down the release bearing guide to, 1.372" ? I assume, still shorten the bearing retainer to four inches and turn down the retainer to fit into bellhousing. Ram is the only option? Elimanating the hydraulic cylinder under the primary exhaust pipes, might be a good idea. Not sure on the routing of bleed line and pressure hydraulic lines for the internal release bearing.

    Yes you'll need to turn the bearing retainer as stated, most if not all the inside diameter of the brg. housing's are 1.380 and the Ford snout is 1.4? Ram is not the only mfg there's Howe Tilton, etc it's just Ran is everywhere. you asked about lines what I do.is use dash 3 braided line I also have a remote bleed if you get the HD kit from Summit you'll get a remote bleed fitting you'll just need some longer lines and some asst an fittings. All are recommended to use a 3/4" master use a dash 3 an union with a crush washer in the master to hook the feed line to. Also note I found on my own car that the clutch was not releasing to my liking I went to a 7/8" master solved the problem ( something ram sort of says but vaguely) a Ram brg travels ,.700 and a ram clutch only needs .500 to release,I also make one piece shims for my stuff and some times a longer anti rotational pin depending on the set up. Also I should have said bore a hole where needed to route the lines. tack the bleed fitting to the driver's side stay.

    Make sure that the hose from the clutch master cylinder is connected to the bottom of the HTB and the bleeder hose is connected to the top of the HTB or it will not be possible to properly bleed the system. As usual, something learned the hard way.

    Need to purchase intermal hydraulic release bearing. What to buy? There is a heavy duty unit with multiple O-rings and another unit that needs the front bearing retainer to machined to size.

    What kit to buy? Also, what about the release bearing? Appears to not come in kits. Maybe the Tilton kit will have a release bearing?
    Not sure on this issue.
