Flooding in the Carolinas

So happy to hear this, Dan! (Other than the internet part, of course.) Hang in there and good luck with the coming one. Hopefully, the current track will hold and it won't make matters worse for you.

Good to hear you’re OK, Dan, and that your house is, too.

A few years ago a tornado tore through our neighborhood, creating a path of near total destruction less than 1/4 mile from our home, so I’m familiar with dodging bullets. So glad you’ve largely dodged this truly biblical storm. We continue to pray for the healing and comfort of those who lost so much.

This video was filmed 10-11-24. Two weeks after Helene.

It's the Chimney Rock Park - Lake Lure area.

For those of you who attended Invasion #10, I think the brown park "that used to be green" is where the cars were parked.

Thought for the Day (not mine): Everyone goes to places like C-R park with the thought the geological formations took millions of years to form, this damage took only HOURS.

Have a good day,

Simply WOW!! Makes me wonder how will they rebuild? Do you fill and recreate or move over and start fresh with undisturbed land? Sure glad it is not my problem. I've got my hands full out here, dealing with my puny problems.

Bill

Simply awesome, the power of Mother Nature. We think we have problems but when you see
this kind of devastation makes you realize your problems are very small and inconsequential.

Made my first visit to Asheville this past weekend, since the hurricane. Made it a point to visit Marshall, where my brother lives, and Swannanoa .
What you see on TV is terrible but in person it is truly a disaster and the need remains great. The vast majority of the population in these mountain counties live well within the 21 st century w/ needs like our own. Items used in daily living are of great value and need so please remember them and do what ever you can via legitimate organization who are there for the long haul. My brother told me " We seem to have enough water but what I want is a good cold beer "
