Fixing a Harmonic Balancer Bearing surface

For those of you that have a bearing surface worn or damaged like on the Harmonic Balancer for a '74 - '78 Mustang II, here is a quick fix by utilizing a NATIONAL Part Number 99166.
1st PIC shows the balancer and it has a small grove showing some wear from the oil seal.

2nd PIC is the National Part Number 99166. It comes with a "cup" that is utilized to press the replacement "seal" onto the balancer area where the groove has been worn into it. Note: The seal has a lip that is used for pressing it onto the balancer. The lip goes on first.

3rd PIC Placing the replacement "seal" on the harmonic balancer. The lip goes first!!

4th PIC Place the "Cup" over the "seal" and press the seal into position on the worn area of the balancer.

The lip can be removed if needed/not wanted after the seal is in place.

There may be other replacements available and other methods of "fixing" the worn harmonic balancers even our axle hubs....

Those sleeves work really well . I've used them on balancers as well as worn rear hubs to stop oil from
leaking on the rear brakes! Great idea to keep in mind!
