EPS potential danger in Alpine (Alleged)

The 70's Vega and aftermarket are the same. The 525 is a little longer but has a better ratio and the same mounting. I think a piece of angle on top of the frame member would allow more room for mounting.

Bill's arguments are very valid, however it appears that the EPS power unit can not be properly limited while steering under standstill or at parking lot situations. This appearantly gives to much load to the Burman internals and in certain instances even makes the casing break. For more details and if you have access, pls. check the UK Horn #253...

Certainly, moving the wheels back and forth while the car is not in motion can exacerbate the issue because the turning friction is much higher (turning the wheels hard stop to stop might also be an issue) but, again, it would be the same if the wheels are moved by hand...the EPS just makes it easier and thus the temptation is there to turn the wheel even when not in motion.
My thought when i read this issue was that the PAS meant people were statically rolling lock all the time and that with wear was causing issues.
