I have been working on Series IV tachometer, which I changed over to neg ground (easy) and attempted to recalibrate for 8 cylinder operation (adjust the pot). I can get accurate readings at either end of the scale, but not both. If I adjust for correct readings at 5000 rpm I get a high reading (1500 rpm) at 1000.

I looked through the Alpine guide, but can find no help there. It seems to be non-linear. I tried resetting the zero point (adjust needle/rotation) to no avail. Any experts out there?

Is Tiger Tom still working on Alpine/Tiger stuff? I had thought he's pretty much retired from all that... No?

Earlier this year I spoke with him about restoring the gauges for my Series II. He no longer does the big gauges (speedo and tach) but still does the smaller gauges.

Hi Chris

Your problem is probably long since sorted - but I recall a guy called Paul Norton here in the UK was the guy to speak to re Tachs.

Is this the slowest EVER response to a question? ;-)
