Early series water pump

This is probably a really stupid question, but; Is this the same water pump as used on any series Alpine? Looks close except for the plate to the engine side and the dimensions may be completely different.

I believe that the water pumps are the same throughout the Series.

Good thought. There is a Rootes-Isuzu connection from late fifties(?).

I doubt this would fit, but maybe one of the early Isuzu petrol engines, if one could be found. This is for a turbo diesel four cylinder engine in a 20-26000 lb. tracked excavator. The water inlet is probably on the order of 1.75 to 2.0 inches. The bearings are designed to carry a fixed blade cooling fan around two feet in diameter with blades probably six inches across.

One thing for certain, if it would fit and work, it would likely last forever.

Suggest you get a gasket that fits this water pump and then compare to the Alpine....

Series 1 water pumps are different they are not as long and use a different pulley.

Series I had a different pump as mentioned..smaller outlet, diff pulley and difv casting.
Sii-iv use the same. This also works on sV 1725... There is a later pump with a triangluarish mounting plate used on later rootes 1725 that can work.. But careful not to get one from a slant motor from an arrows series car
