Dash wiring harness

I do not recall seeing a commercially available "dash wiring harness" for Series Alpines or Tigers, probably because the dash portion of the harness is an integral part of the complete vehicle wiring harness. It would be a pretty straightforward process to electrically separate the dash portion of the wiring harness using Molex plugs (or equivalent) to allow removal of the dash by disconnecting one or two plugs.

IIRC, member Bill Blue did that on his Series Alpine with a 4-cylinder Duratec engine because he got tired of laying on his back with his head under the dash. It is a logical solution and I would not be surprised if others have done more or less the same thing.

The word "dash" is a bit generic. Harnesses generally have wiring for switches which
tie into the fuse panel circuits. The stock harness for dash lights is generally reused as it's
just a string of bulbs and a daisy chain ground. What Bill has done is a really good idea. Takes some
planning but done right makes dash removal a snap.

I bought a vdo gauge specific dash harness. This let me wire up all the gauges on my bench and then I have just a few connection to make to the rebel harness that I installed in the car.

The wiring behind the dash connecting gauge to gauge etc is a mess on both our 61 and 67
Be great to remove dash this Winter and cleanup the entire loom
