Cnn anyone identify this electric fuel pump on my 67 alpinve V?

Hi Everyone- I'm not very mechanically knowledgeable, and after an illness that kept my alpine sitting for 10 months, I have discovered with the help of a kindly neighbor that the electric fuel pump I had put in a few years back has died. We had to bypass the mechanical one as it went kaput as well.

Here is a photo of the broken fuel pump- can anyone identify what model this elec fuel pump might be? We could not find any writing on it. I know enough that the replacement should fit the same or its going to cost me. The left side is the gas inlet and the right side is the outlet.

It's the original 1720 CC 4 cylinder engine. Can anyone help me figure this out? Much appreciated!

I think I have the exact one hanging on my wall that I removed from one of my 1725 engines. Send me a reminder tomorrow and I will take a PIC of it with the info you need.

Looks like the Mr Gasket type of pump. There are a few models that look like that. Should be able to
pick one up at your favorite local auto store.

I'd say Sunalp is correct, a Mr Gasket. Take a look at the 1st PIC for the part number on the body. This one will be going on my Late Series ST SIV Maroon colour code 70.

But since it is not an original part, why do you need to replace it with the same one? I have had great luck with a Facet pump on the Alpine, rated at low pressure.

Note that there are those that think an electric fuel pump should not be installed without a shut off device in the even of an accident - so the shut off device would be triggered by inertia or drop in oil pressure. Sadly, I think they are right, but have yet to get to it myself.

One other thing, since I never turn off my panel lights when my headlights are off, I actually got a higher powered switch and ran my fuel pump through that switch. At the time, I thought it was a good theft device.

sounds like from the great advice you guys have offered that I buy one of these two brands pictured . Any last bits of advice on which one is better for the alpine or is it a toss up?

I was just looking at your current installation picture above. It looks like it is bolted on the spare tire holder? I note that the 12V line is bare and rubbing against the body. That's not good! The rubber hose looks a bit contorted as well. Might not be the best set up.

I’m also not happy with the installation of it, done by a local classic car shop. Once I get the right part I will also deal with that, looking for a more reliable classic car mechanic in my area.
