The Alpine trans use a 10 spline 1 inch OD clutch disk. The T5 has a 10 spline 1.064 inch standard ford clutch disk. The series 2,3 and early 4 use a 8 or 8.5 iinch clutch disc which some Mustang II's had 8.5 and 9.5 inch clutchs with the 1.064 10 spline. I have a s III and am trying to find the 8.5" clutch that will work. My donor car has the 9.5" clutch which is too big. I am trying to find an 8 or 8.5 inch clutch disc with the right size 10 spline. I'm hoping to not have a custom disk made. Has anyone found a 8 or 8.5 inch that works? Sunbeam Specialties catalog claims the 8.5 can be used in place of the 8 inch stock clutch in the series 2,3 and early 4. The later alpines had 7.25 inch discs. Maybe a Capri or other ford product will work.

What clutch disc will fit stock Alpine flywheel with 10 spline 1 1/6" Dia shaft?
I thought Series 5 took the biggest clutch at 8"? I dunno. I have seen diaphragm type clutches at 7-1/2" in Series IV and V. I think sometimes Rootes mixed and matched whatever parts they had on hand to build the last production cars, so, could be.
I just purchased from summit racing a whole kit with parts I didn't need but does have a disc that should work.

This is an image of the 8.5 inch clutch disk for a ford/T5 transmission. I don't have my S3 apart to check the alpine flywheel for fit. the center is 5" and .3" above the wear surface. I had to order whole kit for a 2.8L V6 which came with a pressure plate, throwout bearin and alignment tool. This is from the LUK--07-030 clutch kit. If this fits I will try to convert to roller bearing throwout instead of grafite original.
