Bucket Seat Screws

I have a series 3 alpine and am having the seats reupholstered. The screws that hold the back and bottom of seat have broken off. I do have one of the originals. It is a flat head screw about 2" long does anyone know the thread size. The machine shop said it looked like 1/4" X 27. Which doesn't make any sense. Is it actually a 1/4" X28 thread? Also would any one know a source as I will need 6.

I replaced my seat screws from here...they are in the UK but fairly quick and reasonable on shipping.
They also have the Whitworth thread screws.

Each seat has one Whitworth per side and you'll know it when you see it because that screw doesn't look like any other.

The screws that you need are not the Whitworth.

I bought new screws from these guys, following the recommendation of someone here when I was redoing my seats.https://britishfasteners.com. I also bought a tap to clean up the original threads.

The screws that you need are not the Whitworth.
