Broken hood release

Had mine break last week. Did the normal procedure first by going thru the grill but that wasn’t effective. Figured a better way.

Go under the dash

Remove the existing cable or rod

I used the wi-fi video borescope I use to check barrels for my rifles.

Found some thin flat wire that I formed a hook. Wire came from one of those windshield fold out things that reflects heat that was torn but I saved the wire. (been saving that for years, figured I might use it someday)

Pushed that thru the tube then pushed the borescope camera and light thru.

Watched it on my phone and hooked the level.

Pulled the flat wire and “Pop”.

installing a back up on both cars next week.

I have a rod but the part that secured the post broke.

I’ll be installing a back up on both cars.

Here's a couple PIC's of my "slider" replacement for the originals that get rusty, broken, or lost.... 20161016_200906.jpg
