Brake Servo

I'm actually a fan of correct functioning

Brake boosters, to a degree.

(just Not the Girling)

I worked on a Mod Tiger that originally

had the booster moved under the car behind

the driver and it was powered by an

electric vacuum pump.

The vacuum pump was problematic

but I didn't want to re-engineer

the whole system.

The engine was highly Modified and

low on vacuum.

I couldn't find a descent space near

to put a vacuum reservoir.

My solution was to make a VERY Large

ID hose to act as a vacuum reservoir

between the booster and the engine.

with the check valve right at the

intake, it works great.

Like I have now revised, I have a .75 Wilwood and it's so great it was clearly set and forget!

Don't mean to be dense here. But other than having to shorten the push rod and remove the factory spacer for your smaller space requirements, does this wildwood 3/4" MC bolt right in place? I was looking for any old MC to confirm the measurements, but couldn't find one. Just seeking confirmation before I buy the wildwood and delete my booster.
Thanks!

Servos, even if not working, can leak fluid into the large canister - constantly losing the hydraulic fluid.

But yes, you can leave it mounted. Just need to take the main brake line from the master, and jump it to the T. Sunbeam Specialties used to sell a short custom piece for that.

Note, I think you WILL use the stock spacer. You do not need to shorten the stock pushrod. Instead you need a new pushrod from Wilwood, with the adjustable attachment and get it to fit right.

Is that included with the Wildwood Master or do you need to order it separately? The pushrod on the wildwood webpage looks threaded the entire length. with only one nut on it.
