I understand that a 2025 Sunbeam BASH is going to be held in conjunction with the Cars and Motorcycles of England (CMOE) car show in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, on June 7, 2025. Has anyone else heard about this? Is anyone here planning on going?
 
I heard this was a possibility, but not yet heard conformation. If it's there, I'm sure we will go, since it is just down the street from us about 10 miles. It's a good location. Plenty of field space, and Hope Lodge is quite interesting in it self.

OK, so I need to make a decision as to whether to attend this event or not. I have a conflict with our Scouts BSA girl troop, which some of you know my wife and I helped start a few years ago. We’re supposed to go on an overnight whitewater trip with the girls that weekend, and given my outdoor skills, I’m usually one of the river raft pilots. However, if there’s gonna be a significant amount of Sunbeam folks at the BASH, I’d very much like to attend, and will therefore find a sub for the trip.

Despite the fact that many you know me pretty well from my posts, I don’t think I’ve met but about two or three of the folks on this whole forum. It would be great to see some of you guys in person, but if hardly anyone is gonna be there, then I’ll go to the Whitewater event.

So… is anyone planning to be there?

The TEAE Susquehanna region BASH promises to be another fun family event at the popular Cars & Motorcycles of England at Hope Lodge, Fort Washington, PA. This is a a dual event where you bring a BEAM, socialize with friends, old and new AND if you want, enter your car in the Motorcar and Motorcycle Concours. Trophies will be awarded to best Rare Rootes, Alpine and Tiger. Beams will be a focal point for this show parked in a group near the TEAE hospitality center canopy with snacks and drinks. Additional food and craft beers are available.

The organizers want us to bring all our ROOTES cars as a center piece for the show. Here’s an opportunity to grandstand for your marque. Owners will be provided with the opportunity to not enter the Concours d’Elegance during day of show.

I have quite a few years on you.

I live literally just up Morris Road from Hope Lodge - about 5 miles. Kate has a longer distance to go, she lives in Quakertown. However, her Tiger lives here in my barn, so it only has to go five miles also. The last time out, we put 1900 miles on her Tiger going to the September event in Charleston, and another stop in northern Georgia. I think it can make it to Fort Washington.

Looks like the BASH in June is well and truly ‘on’. For those who have not attended this annual British car show in the past, it’s a wonderful event, and having a BASH along with it will be just great. Just remember that it is a preregistration-only show, and as such there will be no entrance show car ‘day of’ entry at the gate (there is, of course, plenty of visitor parking). Unfortunately my own Sunbeam won’t be ready in time for the show since it’s currently undergoing a repaint :(, so I’ll bring one out of the other cars instead. I’m very much looking forward to meeting some fellow Sunbeam owners!

Yeah, it’s epoxy primer. Not really chuffed at it, but the guy doing it swears by it. This is the first car I’ve let anyone else paint - I’ve done all my own in the past, but I’m 69 and incredibly busy, so… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
Looks like it may be a rainy day for this weekend’s B.A.S.H. in Fort Washington, PA, but I’ll be there. My Beam is still at the body shop, but look for my black Mini Cooper Cabrio - I’m taking that instead of one of the others because if it rains, it’s the only one that’s weatherproof!

My 2002 Cooper I've had since new and we also have a 2012 Clubman as a family car..

It looks like I will need to put a hard top on my red alpine. It has not been out in the rain since the early eighties. In spite of the soft being new and never up since it was installed, it shrunk so much that I had to abandon it. Kate's Tiger has the hard top on it and it saw if first rain since the seventies a few weeks back and it is reasonably water tight.

Hopefully there will be a reasonable turnout. The weather forecast early this morning indicated that it might be reasonable in the AM with the afternoon being iffy. We will see if that holds.

Dave, it was great to meet you and all the other Rootes-loving folks! Thanks to everyone for showing me around, and for your gracious hospitality. I’m sorry that I couldn’t spend more time with you all - I got roped (almost literally) into being the sole judge for the large MG classes, and that ate most of my day. But, despite the off-and-on drizzle, it was a great show, and that fine display of Sunbeams, right up front and center, was especially gratifying to see. Well done TE/AE!
