Ballast resistor location in Mk 1 Tiger

Drove home last week -It's summer here - Drive home from work is only 10 minutes and in my drive the car just stopped . Attempts to restart it resulted in a few seconds of running and then it would stop . Pushed it down the drive and it started fine after 10 minutes . Intially I thought of vapour (New Zealand spelling) lock but now I suspect a faulty Ballast resistor - I have replaced this with a NOS unit . However I note that on my car the ballast resistor is mounted next to the coil on the inlet manifold I believe that the original posiition would have been at the base of one of the bulkhead struts -I wonder if this is a better location as should be slighlty cooler or does it make no difference ?

If memory serves it's located on the right side fender well near the firewall brace. I think one of the brace
bolts holds it on.

Unfortunately the best IMHO collection of pictures is a couple of original cars on BaT. I once got reprimanded for disclosing on a Tiger forum that the Book of Norm was available as a library copy form the parts department. The correct parts locations stampings should not be trade secrets of restorers. Plus the reproduction stamping is different than original.

The whole BON thing has me confused -with prices pushing over $1000 the demand is obviously there for another run. i'm not sure why it hasn't happened -Someone sold me a copy on ebay and it was precisely that a photocopy of the original book and I suspect not complete at that -A breach of copyright for sure -for those of us into originality it is the goto book .

The demand is there but everyone has copied the best sections. It was available on Google drive at the same time that the aforementioned forum was installing back issues of a forum newsletter. It showed up as a link on Facebook by a well known member. While I got a copy to download I also had checked out the library copy and returned it as well as bought and sold on 2 copies. There was a club run concourse training seminar and there was talk about making the information available but it didn't happen. But there's the caveat of looking at BaT particularly the Med blue car touted as " stock and correct.'' nevermind the things that got swapped out once it left the training seminar...

If you haven't been in the fold you won't have heard the simple explanation...Norm didn't own the copyright to print the book.. the publisher did .... So he couldn't just do another run.

There was .any diffusions on a volume II.. but never happened . And could have allowed for corrections that have come about from further research

Thank you for clarifying things

Has anyone thought of approaching the publisher and asking for a reprint -The demand is certianly there -Karl

I'm surprised a band of Tiger owners haven't reached out to the publisher to just buy the rights to it. Unless the publisher is a Tiger owner lol.

Ok, the custodian of a lot of books had a never been cracked copy in a United parts room. A fellow that was the smartest guy in the room about other British cars was told the book would be 15 as he whipped out 15 not Canadian dollars, U.K. lbs ...
The seller said hundred and the book was gently planted back away from human fingers...
The bigger reason is most that have a book of Norm don't want it to be worth less. There's like one section called "Her comes the Judge." That useful with the * called out earlier as to corrections.
Hearing the "All Tigers had the boot lid drilled for a license plat, as that's how mine was done." Seems rather closed minded as dealership monkeys and import finishers did what they wanted.
Obviously the plate light has two different ways to be hung. I remember the same ok sure feeling when I was told that an AC filter housing was on backwards*

*The part number should be forward and I got a picture of the different part number for a said to be real chromed LAT top .
